Sachin A Billion Dreams Critics Review By Taran Adarsh, Komal Nahta, Rajiv Masand

Sachin Tendulkar’s journey in this film looks so real that you even have moments like ‘Aila, Sachin bhi aise karta hai.’ It not only celebrates the personality that he is but also Indian Cricket in all its glory. The film takes off with Sachin’s most precious moments when his daughter Sara was born. The Cricketer who may have taken a ton of perfect catches, is nervous as hell, holding his little one and in that moment is like any other newly turned father, who is scared to carry the little one around. the film got huge appreciation from critics and impressed everyone well the film is just for Cricket lovers but you will loved this film very much. s

Sachin: A Billion Dreams is thankfully not a biopic. This is a documentary not merely about the man with that name, but one narrated by him, one where he tells his own story in his own words. It is not journalistic or incisive or probing. It feels, instead, intimate – as intimate as it can feel, anyway, for a film where an audience claps and cheers alongside those who clapped and cheered live, years ago. Which is to say: it is us today applauding in time with us yesterday.

Sachin: A Billion Dreams is a movie strictly for cricket fans. But then that’s the entire country, including yours truly. At the end of the movie, a fellow journalist told me ‘This is the happiest I have seen you after any movie.’ It’s true because I just watched a good piece of cinema where I became a cricket fan once again, and had relived my childhood. This is easily the best movie on cricket, and whether you are a Sachin fan or not, you will find tears flowing through the sides of your cheeks at the end of the film. Sachin: A Billion Dreams is highly recommended. Just make sure you cheer with the rest of the audience …Sachin…Sachin…!

The docu-drama with Sachin himself narrating may not appeal to everyone.!

If you’re of the generation that grew on Bhajji’s off spins, Sachin’s masterstrokes, Ganguly’s aggression and Dravid’s ‘Mr. Wall’ days, this will bring you back to Cricket once more. And not to mention, ‘Sachin… Sachin… Sachin… ’ never dies. Because Sachin isn’t a name. It is an emotion.

What makes the movie endearing is a peek into his private life like his love story, footage from his wedding, the birth of his two children and the special bond he shares with his father. The footage might be blurry at times, but you don’t mind as it engrosses you. He might not be an actor but engages you with his story-telling and it’s impossible to be unmoved with his disappointments and achievements. You will be overwhelmed with emotions when you see the clip of him giving the retirement speech in 2013. Sachin: A Billion Dreams will make you feel patriotic in places and it is one of those films that make you leave the theaters with a smile. So, do yourself a favour and watch the movie this weekend. We promise you – your 2 hours, 20 minutes will be totally worth it.

Sachin A Billion Dreams Review – Filled With Emotions and Pride and Shows Hardwork

Director: James Erksine

Star Cast: Sachin Tendulkar

Ratings: 4/5

Sachin: A Billion Dreams is a documentary drama. It is the story of Lord Sachin Tendulkar of cricket. This film shows the story of how a boy from a middle class family reaches prominence. This film shows Sachin’s hard work and tells that there is no short cut for success.

Thirty minutes into Sachin: A Billion Dreams, you start wondering why on earth are you watching this film in a theatre. This film is such a treat for the fans of Sachin Tendulkar and cricket that it needs to be watched while relaxing in a sports lounge of a medium. It is laced with great storytelling, amazing real time footage, a sneak peek into Sachin Tendulkar’s life. In fact, it has all the right ingredients to make the sports docu-drama grand.

The film begins with a video, in which Sachin’s lap is his only daughter-in-law. This is real video and is of that time when Sarah was born. When Sachin had taken him for the first time in his lap, he had said that ‘I’m feeling very scared’ to catch him. The story of the film then goes on to the story of Sachin’s childhood. Sachin was quite naughty in childhood they used to throw somebody’s vehicle off.

Sachin’s life changes then, when his elder sister gives him in a bat. After this, Sachin starts playing cricket with his elder brother Ajit. The 1983 World Cup gave Tendulkar a new direction to his life. They began to believe that cricket was their destination and dream of winning the World Cup.

With his master Achrekar ji, the journey from cricket practice to reach his first match is in the drama form. Most of the real videos are shown in the film later and the story goes forward through different people.

Plus Points Script Analysis

1) Sachin loved by everyone since childhood. Parents had faith in them, what Sachin wanted to do was given to them. Big brother Ajit considered his destination as his destination and always supported him.

2) Sachin’s first match against Pakistan was against Pakistan, then Pakistani players took him very lightly. But Wasim Akram said about him that he had been seen to be a great player in Sachin in the beginning.

3) Even after becoming a big player, he had an attachment to music. By the way, his name was kept due to the famous musician Sachin Dev Burman.

4) Regardless of rain or sunshine, Sachin never compromised with cricket practice. If they were out early, how would they work on their hindrances?

5) An ideal son, as an ideal husband and father of his two children, is how he was shown.

6) After becoming a cricket captain, how many senior players did not listen to him and his absence with Mohammad Azharuddin was also shown with a lot of persuasiveness. In a real video, Young Sachin is giving autographs to his fans and he is sitting quietly in Azhar. Together with Ravi Shastri’s commentary, where he is saying in gestures, it is clear how limelight is changing.

7) The downfall of a successful player is shown when the headline of the newspaper started to become “Andler” instead of Tendulkar. During that time, how did they spend time with the family – in a video, at the same time, they are jokingly jokingly with their son and daughter.

8) After the shameful defeat in 2007, the hard work of winning the World Cup in 2011 has been shown very well.

9) Some amazing videos where Sachin is cutting cakes with his team mets after making 35th Century, or in a foreign location, like a common man, he is walking with wife children, which is not suitable for them in India.

10) The pain of losing father and how he treated his father as his god. For the first time in the hotel room, Sachin’s wife told him the news of his father’s death … seeing that moment the viewer could not stop tears in his eyes.

What You Miss In Film

1) The love story of Sachin and Anjali, they look like a son, father and husband, but the story of how the love story was started was not in the film.

2) Vinod Kambli, who was a friend of his childhood, is with him mentioning the first big partnership, but later the crack between him and Kambli is not in the film.

3) The crack between Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Sachin is not in the film, when Dhoni’s gesture was pointed out in the movie where Dhoni had shown that he did not want to keep some senior players in the team. But this was not shown in this.

Is documentary, do not compare to the movie made on Dhoni

The story of the documentary is difficult to tell, but the director James Arcskin, the author Sandeep Srivastava and Sivakumar Ananth, have to be praised by the way in which they have put Tendulkar’s childhood in the drama form and later in the film through real videos, In the meantime, only Sachin is shown as a facilitator.

Along with Sachin’s wife and Sachin’s seniors Sunil Gavaskar, through the interviews of Kapil Dev and Ravi Shastri, the story has also been interesting; there is also the interview of Sachin Amitabh Bachchan, along with Sachin’s fiants, where he used to tell Sachin when he landed on the field. So their expectations were increased.

Yes, Dhoni’s biopic should not compare this film because it was a complete fiction.
