Box Office: Shivaay Vs Ae Dil Hai Mushkil 1st Day Friday Earnings Reports

Well two much hyped box office clash between Ajay Devgn’s Shivaay Vs Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil finally front of us. The cold war between Shivaay and ADHM begins and the romantic drama movie takes good advantage of controversy. Well both movies makes good pre-release buzz and during Diwali festival the Karan Johar’s movie taken more advantage of youngsters. Both movies are largely depended on good word of mouth and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil opened with good critics review and other site action drama of Ajay Devgn starring Shivaay received mixed critics review.


Shivaay 1st Day Box Office Collection Reports

Diwali releases proved to be underperformer for last few years. This year clash has received unnecessary media hype and result was on expected lines. ”Shivaay” was never expected to take flying start with Ajay Devgn as solo face in the film. Trade and little section of media went berserk but audience proved them wrong on day one.

                                                          Shivaay Friday: 10.24 crore

Film never took off in multiplexes and though mass centers were better but those were too not great. Film opened to 30% occupancy and never saw drastic jump. Film managed 10.24 cr nett on day one which is strictly average though pre Diwali period gives it hope that it might see big gains from Monday onwards. Though word of mouth does not suggest that.

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil 1st Day Box Office Collection

Much hyped Diwali clash has gone on day one completely on expected lines. Films took expected start in morning followed by usual decline due to festivities. ADHM was expected to lead on day one as per pre release buzz. Though a leading box office research firm predicted complete opposite for a month which is laughable.

                                                               ADHM Friday: 13.30 crore

ADHM started well in morning and maintained its momentum in multiplexes in evening too. Though film was weak in mass centers but that did not affect much as those were never TG for the film. Film collected 13.30 cr nett on day one which is very good considering competition and period. Film should be on similar levels today and it should cross 42-45 cr nett over weekend. Monday will decide it”s peak levels.
