Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali starts shooting for his much awaited movie ‘Padmavati’. Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus ‘Padmavati’ has finally gone on floors today in Mumbai. According to reports, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor were spotted at Mehboob Studios in Bandra, Mumbai this afternoon as they got ready to shoot for the scenes in question.
‘Padmavati’ sees Deepika playing the role of Queen Padmini while Shahid essays the character of her husband, Raja Rawal Ratan Singh. Ranveer plays the antagonist Alauddin Khilji, who declares war on Chittor, motivated by his desire for Padmini.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmavati’ is amongst the most eagerly awaited films in recent times. The magnum opus, which stars Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor in the lead roles, is being produced on a mammoth budget. Shooting for the film, has officially commenced in Mumbai’s Film City with Ranveer Singh. Shobha Iyer Sant, CEO of Bhansali Productions, tweeted a picture of the clapboard, much to the excitement of the fans.
